Approximate Paddle Time: 2 Hours
Difficulty: Beginner
How daring are you? Are you
willing to brave the 25 foot jump into the
murky depths? This has to be one of the more
interesting trips we do, why you ask? Let me
tell you...
We start off in Mandarin, towards the
southwest of Jacksonville, we put in and begin
our paddle east. Giant lilly pads, beautiful
trees, even a baby gator (no problems!).
People have fishing spots set up all over the
banks, you can see beautiful homes on the side
with their own private river access. Then we
get to the "Treasure Chest", a tree
over a section of the river which is at least
30 feet deep, the tree is a 25 foot climb
(boards are nailed in for a ladder), there's a
rope to swing on or you can just jump. They
call it the treasure chest because at least
one person every time loses something when
they hit the water, how sure are you ladies
that, that bathing suit top is securely
on?? |

| This
is a must trip whether you jump or not,
but only those who jump (and throw
caution to the wind - meaning don't
prepare ahead of time by removing items
or tighting clothes) can truly say they
found the "Treasure Chest". |
